This is an exercise in taking an initial bearing on a hidden transmitter.  You take a bearing from some location which can be your QTH, local high spot, or for more accuracy, a couple of bearings from different locations.  Provide me the location(s) from which you take your bearings in degrees, minutes, and seconds, and your bearing in magnetic or true degrees, and I will let you know how close you come to the super secret transmitter location.  Note that the magnetic declination is 12.5 degrees.

The transmitter will transmit on the hidden transmitter frequency of 146.565 mHz on Saturday, May 14th, from 1300 to 1600 hours.  The transmitter will be running about 5 watts into a half-wave antenna about 20 feet high.  I will monitor CARP 146.865 mHz repeater for any questions.

The purpose here is to determine an initial bearing, not to track down the location of the transmitter.  Plan on a hidden transmitter hunt in June.
