FCC Climb to Kaiser Ride

Amateur Radio Event Communications

The FCC Climb to Kaiser Ride is a challenging and scenic cycling event that takes riders from the valley floor into the Sierra Nevada, culminating at Huntington Lake / Kaiser Pass area. Known for its demanding climbs and breathtaking views, this ride attracts cyclists from across the region.

The Clovis Amateur Radio Pioneers (K6ARP) will provide amateur radio communications support to help ensure safe and efficient event operations. Licensed amateur radio volunteers will assist with event-wide communications, route and weather updates, rider status reports, and coordination between ride officials, SAG vehicles, and safety personnel.

Reliable communications are essential due to the length of the route, elevation changes, and remote terrain encountered during the ride. Amateur radio operators play a key role in maintaining situational awareness and rapid response throughout the event.

Licensed amateur radio operators interested in volunteering are encouraged to participate and support this premier cycling event through public service communications.
