About this event
For the Fresno ARES part of the test, we are looking for check-ins, via radio, to check on your status, and general wellbeing. HF frequencies, coupled with NVIS antennas, will hopefully allow us to take traffic from areas affected by an earthquake, while VHF and UHF bands will also allow us to check on our local population.
We will be using the "wilderness protocol" and taking check-ins at 3 minutes before the hour until 3 minutes after the hour at 9 AM, 12 noon, 3 PM, and at 5 PM (normally this would be 6 PM but this is a volunteer effort and a normal workday also). Assuming that power holds, we will most likely be listening for other traffic and other check-ins throughout the day. Information gathered would then be forwarded to a local net operator to forward to the appropriate authorities
Please listen for us during the day and times listed. Check in if and when possible. Frequencies are listed below.
