Amateur Radio Exam Session

 

Exams offered for Technician, General, and Amateur Extra Class

 

What to Bring:

1. Valid photo ID — state driver’s license, ID card, passport, or military ID.
2. Your FCC Registration Number (FRN) — must be obtained before exam day.
3. For upgrades: official copy of your current license or CSCE certificate.
4. A valid email address.
5. $15.00 exam fee (exact change preferred).

FRN Requirement

All examinees are required to register with the FCC’s CORES system and obtain a Federal Registration Number (FRN) prior to the exam. Applications submitted without an FRN will be rejected by the FCC. Instructions for registering in CORES are available on the FCC website.

Once exam results are submitted, successful candidates will receive an email from the FCC with payment instructions for the FCC application fee (currently $35). You will then have 10 calendar days to complete that payment through the FCC CORES portal.
